Potty training is a normal physiological process which implies maturity of the central peripheral nervous system. There is usually a range of ages in which the diaper is no longer used: toward two years of age, but there may be children who have not stopped using diapers at three years of age or older.
Final coming out of diapers is gradual, first you have be sure that your child is ready psychologically to do so because not all children develop at the same pace.
Place a potty in the bathroom. Once there help your child to put his feet on the floor for a correct posture, give him the time he needs to try the potty, look at it and even play with it. It is important to know that if he uses the potty correctly, you have to congratulate him; but if he does not, you should not scold him. Coming out of diapers is a slow process; parents need a great deal of pacience and the child have to be encouraged to stop using diapers.
