Share!Babelito’s cotton-tipped swabs are treated with an anti-germ solution that helps to prevent contamination. The swabs are recommended by paediatricians to clean and disinfect the umbilical cord from birth to its subsequent fall. It is also recommended to sanitize the outside of the ears, but you have to have a very special care, since the swabs should not be introduced into the ear canal. In the event that it is necessary to clean the ear canal due to a surplus of wax, this procedure must be performed by a medical specialist. These swabs come in a handy plastic jar with lid, which keeps them clean and dry.

It is normal that babies’ ears produce plenty of wax. Though some parents may be surprised, wax is necessary to protect the middle and inner ear from external infections.
Swabs, then, are very useful for the external cleaning of ears, but there is no reason to introduce swabs into the ear because this is a self-cleaning organ which has ceruminous glands which produce earwax. This substance not only lubricates the external auditory canal, but also maintains it perfectly clean. Only the outer part of the ear can be cleaned. Do not introduce the swab in the auditory canal and do not allow children to use swabs. Use a swab only once and only in one part of the body. Do not use them with organic solvents.
