Sit comfortably and relaxed so that milk expresses easily.
If you are going to feed your baby during the first 24 hours after expressing your milk, keep it in the cooler in a sterilized bottle. If you are not using it in this period you have to freeze it. Before freezing milk keep in the cooler during two hours. You can keep it in the freezer during 3 months. Once the milk is thawed you cannot refreeze it, it has to be kept in the cooler and used within next 24 hours. Remember to label each bottle indicating when the date milk was pumped.
To thaw pumped breast milk, place the baby bottle in a pan with hot water (not boiling) or let it thaw in the cooler during the night. Do not thaw or heat it in the microwave. It can destroy the milk’s enzymes and immune properties. Once thawed, you cannot refreeze breast milk.
FAQ Silicone Nipple Shields
No, our nipple shields are available only in one size.
We design our silicone nipples to help you breastfeed your baby when your nipples are hurt or inverted. We recommend that you see your doctor if you have any doubts on when and how long to use nipple shields.
First, check that the nipple shield is clean and sterilized. Then, with your just washed breast, invert the edge of the nipple shield and place the end to cover your nipple and as much area as possible of the breast. If you prefer, you can use a small quantity of moisturizing lotion around the edge to improve adjustment and comfort.
Before first use and after each time you use them, wash with lukewarm water and neutral detergent, and finally sterilize them in boiling water during 5 minutes.
We recommend that you keep sterilized nipple shields in a plastic container previously sterilized.
If the nipple shield has signs of excessive wear (produced by normal wear and tear), replace the nipple shield immediately.
Never try to enlarge suction holes of a nipple shield since this could cause tearing of its material. Never use nipple shields as a pacifier; do not let your child play with them; they are not toys.
